About Kajaniemi Camping

We are a happy and relaxed group, and we are united by our love for animals, nature, rural peace and working together. We all live near the camping area, either permanently or as cabins during the summer.

The municipality put out a tender for the campsite operator, and we couldn't pass up the opportunity. We unanimously decided to present our own idea.

The vision of a happy, warm-hearted and animal-friendly campsite united us and inspired us to develop the area.

From inch to implementation - we decided to establish an association right next to our cause, on the shore of Rutajärvi.

The name of the lake was still Airanne in the 17th century.

The association was named Airanteen Lumo ry., in honor of the incredibly beautiful sunrises that the lake serves to this beach.

And because Lumo in Rutajärvi...well, we didn't think it matched as well.

Kajaniemi Camping Oy was founded on the side to clarify the differences between business and association activities.

Before opening the campsite, we worked together and separately for a good year.

Plans were made, costs were calculated, places were cleared and renovated.

Kajaniemi Camping will open its doors in May 2024! You are warmly welcomed by us!

Hanna - A lover of animals and nature, a lover of old houses and an entrepreneur.

In addition, we were accompanied by Asta and Pekka, the power duo of our neighbor Kajabaca winery, who did a tremendous job in preparing our activities!
